Sydney Johnson has been a member of Junior League since 2008. She completed her provisional year through the Junior League of Orange County while living in Newport Beach, before deciding to move back to her beautiful hometown of Los Angeles. Sydney has been a part of the Junior League of Los Angeles for 9 years, during which she has held a variety of positions on Projects, Community, Development and Membership Council. After spending the previous 5 years working on internally focused placements, including serving as Membership Vice President and as a Board Director, Sydney decided it was time to return to her true passion of hands on service and outreach, and took on her current role as Community Vice President.
Since her first JLLA placement working with the Heart Of Los Angeles, she has sat on their Associate Board and has continued to maintain a close relationship with the organization. Sydney’s experience with HOLA and subsequent chairing of the College Admissions Program Committee, provided her with the knowledge and insight necessary to help her father launch the Third Thursdays program with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Harbor City that now runs at 3 locations.
Sydney has been an electrical programmer and home automation specialist for Westco Smart Homes since 2008. She appreciates the opportunity to promote energy efficiency through customized systems, and enjoys being one of the only women in her field.
When not working or volunteering, Sydney enjoys spending time with her husband and their three cats at their home in Culver City. She is a novice hiker, cat video enthusiast and an avid Dodger fan.
