Joy Williams has been an active member of the Junior League of Los Angeles since 2003. Joy currently serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors. As a member of JLLA, Joy has gained substantial knowledge by serving in a variety of leadership positions including Operations Vice President, Risk Management & Governance Board Committee Co-chair, Strategic Planning Chair, Board Fellows Chair, Nominating Committee, Annual Giving Chair, Public Relations/Publicity Chair, and Neighborhood Provisional Advisor. She has also participated in the Association of Junior Leagues International’s award winning programs, including Organizational Development Institute, Leadership Development Institute, Board Fellows and Appointments to Boards & Commissions Institute.
In addition to her Junior League engagement, she currently serves as a Los Angeles County Library Commissioner, CWUMC Board of Trustees, Vice President of Programs for the San Fernando Valley (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and a Program Board Officer of MEND, which is a local nonprofit organization that is the second-largest emergency food bank in Los Angeles and the recipient of the 2012 Governor’s Award for California’s Nonprofit of the Year.
Joy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master of Public Administration from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, and a Juris Doctor from the Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University. When Joy isn’t volunteering or working as a legal consultant for AmLaw A-List law firms and an adjunct professor, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and playing sports.
