WOMEN CRUSH WEDNESDAYS | CARISSA PHELPS

This year Carissa Phelps made her mark on members of the JLLA. In November she was a keynote speaker at our CLF event, raising awareness about the link between Foster Youth and Human Trafficking. This past January our Public Policy Council hosted a book club for her memoir “Runaway Girl: Escaping Life on the Streets”, during which they held a discussion for Human Trafficking Awareness Month, which takes place throughout January. Carissa and her foundation Runaway Girls Inc. has continually been dedicated to protecting and caring for victims and survivors of human trafficking, as well as providing employment and career opportunities — and most important, hope — for a future. Because of this, she is our #WCW!
