Welcome to the Junior League of Los Angeles!
During your transfer year, you will learn about JLLA’s long history of voluntarism and the impact the League has had on the City of Los Angeles as the premier women’s organization in the region. You will be able to continue to develop your talents as a leader and put these skills to work to improve the lives of children and families in our community.
HOW TO TRANSFER
Any current League member in good standing is eligible to transfer to the Junior League of Los Angeles. To transfer to JLLA, you must notify your CURRENT League. The procedure varies by League so check with your current League (or the last League you held active membership in) for guidance.
Your League will notify the Junior League of Los Angeles of your intent to transfer and we will mail you a welcome letter and a transfer questionnaire. Please return the completed questionnaire (along with any required payment) within 90 days so we can complete your transfer and add you to the Transfer Committee.
The Transfer Committee plans a variety of fun and educational activities to help you navigate through your first year in the League and in Los Angeles. Your Transfer Committee placement during your first year helps you orientate yourself to our League, meet our members, and get your bearings in your new town. We encourage you to make new friends and experience all the Junior League of Los Angeles has to offer. Make sure to ask lots of questions and try everything!
JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LOS ANGELES TRANSFER DEADLINES
PROVISIONAL/NEW MEMBER TRANSFERS
There are no deadlines for Provisional/New Member Transfers. Once your transfer is complete, you’ll be eligible to join our New Member Class.
Active members transferring into the Junior League of Los Angeles must complete their transfers (including payment of dues and submission of any required forms) based on the following schedule:
To be part of the FALL Transfer Class, your transfer must be completed no later than July 31st.
To be part of the SPRING Transfer Class, your transfer must be completed no later than December 31st.
If your transfer is completed after these deadlines, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the following Transfer Class. You will be welcome to attend all meetings, participate in all events, and you’ll receive all League communications. You will also have the opportunity to immediately enroll in an open placement if you’d like to get right to work!

SUSTAINING AND EMERITUS TRANSFERS
There are no deadlines for Sustaining and Emeritus transfers. Once your transfer is complete, you’ll be eligible to join our Sustainer Group. You will be welcome to attend all meetings, participate in all events, and you’ll receive all League communications.
