#WCW SPOTLIGHT ON EMILY HULL

As a 4th generation Angeleno and a 3rd generation member of the Junior League, I have always felt a sense of responsibility to give back to my city.   I joined the league to find meaningful ways to participate in and give back to our community.  Little did I know I would also meet amazing accomplished women and dear friends along the way.  This is my second year as a part of the Children’s Bureau project.  I have always loved working with children – I was a camp counselor for 8 years and currently work at an elementary school.   Each week I am so lucky to share my love of reading with the children we serve.   The few hours we are with them and their parents on Saturday mornings are always filled with joy, excitement, and creativity. Each Saturday when I leave the  Children’s Bureau, I feel inspired and hopeful that I have made a positive difference in the life of a child. I am grateful for the opportunity the Junior League has given me to volunteer at the Children’s Bureau, helping fulfill their mission of  providing vulnerable children — especially in the early years — with the foundation necessary to become caring and productive adults.
